A Full Scan checks your Bellum Gero game files and downloads or repairs anything that is missing, outdated, or corrupted. You should run a Full Scan whenever there is a TRE update, launcher update, missing file issue, crash issue, or staff instructs players to do so.
Important: Do not run the game while the launcher is scanning or downloading files.
Launch the Bellum Gero Launcher from your desktop shortcut or from the folder where you installed it. Allow the launcher to fully load before clicking anything.
On the launcher window, look for the option labeled Full Scan. Depending on your launcher version, this may appear as a button, checkbox, or scan option near the play or update controls.
The Full Scan option tells the launcher to check all required Bellum Gero files instead of only checking for basic updates.
Click Full Scan to begin the file check. The launcher will compare your local files against the required Bellum Gero files.
This may take several minutes depending on your computer, connection speed, and how many files need to be repaired.
Let the Full Scan complete fully before launching the game. Do not close the launcher, restart your computer, or press Play while the scan is still running.
When the scan is finished, the launcher should show that the process is complete or that your files are up to date.
After the Full Scan is complete, click Play or launch the game through the BG Launcher. Log in normally and verify that the game loads correctly.
Players should run a Full Scan in the following situations:
Give it time, especially if it is checking or downloading large files. Some parts of the scan may appear slow. If it has not moved for a long time, close the launcher, reopen it, and try the Full Scan again.
Check your internet connection and make sure your firewall, antivirus, or Windows security settings are not blocking the launcher. You may need to run the launcher as Administrator.
Run the Full Scan one more time, then restart your computer and try again. If the crash continues, contact Bellum Gero staff and provide details about when the crash happens.
Make sure the Full Scan completed fully before launching the game. If the issue remains, report the missing object, item, icon, or location to staff so it can be reviewed.
When Bellum Gero patch notes say there is a TRE update, players must completely close all game clients and run a Full Scan from the BG Launcher before logging back in.
Skipping this step may cause crashes, missing objects, invisible items, broken icons, or other client-side issues.
Running a Full Scan is the best way to make sure your Bellum Gero client has the correct files. When in doubt, close the game, open the BG Launcher, run a Full Scan, and then launch the game again.
